3 Common Video Marketing Mistakes

07.07.2015 by Elizabeth // Leave a Comment

We all know video is important for our business and on our websites, but it sure seems expensive and time consuming! My friends over at Compass Rose Video are hosting a 3 part webinar series on Video Marketing Mistakes. Something I think a few of us could use!

Finally!

A Virtual Workshop that will get you started on your Video Marketing Strategy!

Video is the most powerful tool you can add to your current Content Marketing Strategy – if used correctly. When used incorrectly, poor videos will drive away 60% of new visitors to your website…forever!
Do you worry that your videos might be sub-par in any of these 3 areas?

  1. Poor Content
  2. Quality of Video
  3. On Camera Performance

Compass Rose Video is proud to introduce this 3 part Webinar where you will have fun learning how to create effective, quality Videos that will grow your business, instead of sabotaging it.

Click here to view the Registration Page!

If you can’t make any of the Webinar session dates, not to worry – all the sessions will be recorded and you will receive all the replays.

Fundraising Done Right

10.23.2014 by Elizabeth // Leave a Comment

ROL_page_bannerOn Monday I attended the Hopelink Luncheon. It was a great event with 1500 people and they raised just under $1 million dollars! And why do I know that? Because on Tuesday (yes, the very next day) I had a postcard in the mail box thanking me for attending, and included was the amount the raised, AND my address, both hand written. I also received a voicemail yesterday thanking me for my donation and for attending the luncheon.

Thanking donors is something that most nonprofits do well. I have received voicemail and postcard thank you’s for fundraisers I’ve attended in the past, but the efficiency and organization of the event and especially of the follow-up gives me confidence these folks know what they’re doing and that my donation is in good hands.

When I work with clients I often suggest that they have follow-up emails written BEFORE the event. You get back to your office after a speaking engagement, plug-in email addresses and hit send on that follow-up note. Make it easy on your self. Plan ahead, be organized, have the resources you need (often an admin) and be efficient. It pays off.

09.30.2014 by Elizabeth // Leave a Comment

Hopelink Annual LuncheonWelcome to Fall! The sunshine and warm weather is gone till next year, so let’s get back into the swing of things and back to Networking! Here’s a few place’s you’ll find me this month…

Thursday, October 2nd

Ridiculously Good Content with Ann Handley – My friends over at Heinz Marketing are hosting Ann Handley, and I’m looking forward to this afternoon of great content and copy of the book and a cocktail? How can this be anything but great?

Thursday, October 9th

Whitworth President’s Leadership Forum featuring Condoleezza Rice – One of the perks of being married to a University Trustee is you get to meet really impressive women like Condie. I promise to post a selfie with her! And I (had to) promise not to have liberal tourettes. We’ll be in Spokane through the weekend for reunion events too, if you’re in Spokane, let me know!

Thursday, October 16th (Happy Birthday Jake!)

eWomenNetwork Luncheon – You know my love of eWomenNetwork! This is a fantastic organization for women in business who are looking to grow their business, get education, and have a community of like minded people in their corner. This organization has been instrumental in Yellow Dog’s success!

Saturday, October 18th

Beer Geek Girls 1st Anniversary Party! That’s folks- it’s been a year of drinking delicious beer with some fantastic ladies in the region. We’re on a brewery crawl through Ballard- and this one is open for the guys as well!

Monday, October 20th

Hopelink Reaching Out Luncheon– My friends are involved with this great local organization and somehow I got roped into hosting a table. It’s going to be a GREAT event and features NFL and Dancing with the Stars alum Donald Driver! If you’d like to join my table please let me know!
